When it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera system, we have leaks and rumors circulating. Famous tipsters and industry insiders (such as IceUniverse) have shared a disappointing prediction regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 6's camera. Sources claim that it will be the same system as the predecessors, the Z fold 5 and Z Fold 4.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 camera specifications:

50 MP main sensor with f/1.8 aperture and OIS;
Secondary 10MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, OIS and 3x optical zoom;

We expect 12/256 GB as the base configuration and a higher variant with 1 TB of storage. At this point, there is no information on a 16GB RAM model, but that could change, as Samsung is one of the largest memory chip makers, and this would be a very simple upgrade to include .

As usual, no microSD card slot is provided on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, even if mid-range models like the A54 still sport one.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5, in comparison, measures 13.4mm when folded, which is much thicker than other foldable models like the Huawei Mate Mix Fold 3, unveiled in August (10.9 mm thick), and the current champion, the Honor Magic V2 (9.9 mm).

Expected Galaxy Z Fold 6 display specifications

There was a first leak which was revealed even before the Galaxy Z fold 5, indicating that there would be a different aspect ratio for the external screen of the Galaxy Z Fold 6. This makes a lot of sense, as the Fold's cover screen has been criticized for being too narrow and difficult to use.

THE Galaxy Z fold 5 sports a 6.2-inch, 904 x 2316 pixel, 23.1:9 ratio cover display. In comparison, the Honor the Magic V2 has a 6.43-inch, 1060 x 2376 pixel, 20:9 aspect ratio screen cover which is, in our opinion, much more usable.

As for the main screen, we expect the same size and refresh rate as the Fold 5, with perhaps an increase in brightness, to compete with phones such as the OnePlus Open and its display main 2,800 nits.

The battery and charging of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 are unknown at this time. We won't hold our breath for a substantial improvement in battery capacity, especially since Samsung is trying to make the phone thinner and lighter and integrate the S Pen inside as well.

Charging will likely also cap at 25W, just like the previous model, but stay tuned for surprises on that.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to ship with Android 14 (OneUI 6.0) at launch, but we expect the phone to receive the next big update, Android 15 (and OneUI 7.0) soon. Google is expected to unveil its next version of Android at the I/O conference in May and begin distributing it to brands in Q3/4 2024.

As for the expected new features, it's too early to tell, but it's common sense to expect improvements in multitasking and multi-window modes, as well as revisions to the taskbar regarding applications active.

We expect the Z Fold 6 to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 onboard, despite the fact that we might get a Plus version of the chipset in the meantime. We don't expect Exynos variants to make the cut, as the Korean company relies heavily on Snapdragon for its foldables. What we are waiting for is a specially optimized version of the Snapdragon 8 generation 3 bearing the nickname “For Galaxy”.
