Apple might add a proper flashlight to its Apple Watch someday

And while this particular feature does a pretty decent job, Apple may be working on adding a proper flashlight to its Apple Watches.

According to a new patent application Dubbed “Modular Lighting Assembly for a Wearable Device,” Apple could be working on a way to add a modular lighting assembly – a flashlight said in a not-so-sophisticated way – to the Apple Watch band (via AppleInsider). Additionally, the patent shows that the flashlight could have its own battery so it doesn't drain your smartwatch's battery.

It's worth noting that a patent doesn't necessarily mean we'll get an Apple Watch with a flashlight attached to its strap. However, we think it will be something interesting to see.

Another thing we should mention is that we already have smartwatches with built-in flashlights. For example, the Garmin Enduro 2 and Garmin fēnix 7X Pro are some of the smartwatches equipped with an LED flashlight. And, frankly, it would be even better if Apple found a way to insert an LED flashlight directly into the Apple Watch, just like Garmin.
