Here is the first live image of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro

It's been over a year since Samsung launched its mid-range rugged tablet, the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, and a sequel is unlikely to be released this year. However, the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro does exist, and Samsung will certainly unveil it very soon.

Although looks are probably the last thing on customers' minds when it comes to rugged phones and tablets, the first live image of Samsung's unannounced Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro has just been spotted on websites SafetyKorea and KTL (via MySmartPrice).

Only the front of the tablet is shown in the image, which shows a curved screen covered in protective plastic. Three physical buttons at the bottom are also visible in the image, along with a front-facing camera on the top side.

The only information confirmed by the listing at SafetyKorea and KTL concerns the tablet's battery. Surprisingly, the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro will be powered by a rather small 4,900mAh battery with support for 15W charging.

This is rather disappointing considering that the current model, the Galaxy Tab Active4 Pro, has a much larger 7,600 mAh battery. Maybe the sequel will have a smaller screen than 10.1 inches to compensate for the not-so-big battery.

Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro next year, but the exact timeline hasn't been confirmed or disclosed, so we'll probably know closer to the announcement.
