Whether or not you have someone to warm you up this season, Google is an entity you can count on to cheer you up. THE
Removal of December features is here for Pixel phones and brings a ton of new features not only to the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, but also to older phones and other devices from the company.
The highlight of the update is Gemini Nano, Google's new AI model that now works on the Pixel 8
Pro. Using the power of the Tensor G3, it brings two new features to the phone:
1. Summarize in recorder: This feature summarizes voice notes.
2. Smart Reply in Gboard: Gemini Nano enhances the Smart Reply feature in Gboard to suggest replies with conversational awareness. WhatsApp users can already use it and it will be available on other apps next year.
As a recent rumor said, the
Pixel 8 Pro will benefit from the
Video Boost feature to improve the quality of videos. The clips will be sent to Google's servers where the company's computer photographic models will take care of everything from stabilization to grain. This feature will also enable Night Sight video for better low-light performance.
Pixel 8 users feel left out, there's a new feature for them (and
Pixel 8 Pro owners) to record long timelapse videos in the dark.
The Pixel 6 and new phones, Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet get a better Portrait Lighting feature for enhanced portrait photos. This feature also works on previously taken photos. Photo Unblur is now more effective at improving the sharpness of photos.
There's also a feature exclusive to the Pixel Fold that takes advantage of both screens. It shows a preview of a photo taken on the exterior screen.
Google also introduced an iPhone-like feature Continuity Camera that lets you use the Pixel folding And Pixel 6 and newer phones as a webcam for your laptop and desktop.
There's also a useful new feature called “Clean” that removes stains and marks from scanned documents. The rumored Repair Mode feature is also present and ensures your data stays safe from prying eyes when you send it in for repair.
The Call Screen feature that tells you who is calling and why will now be able to suggest contextual responses.
The Pixel Watch has also received the Call Screen feature and the wearable can also be used to unlock your Pixel phone now.
There are two new features for the Pixel Tablet also: Clear Calling to reduce background noise during calls and spatial audio.
