Google’s Pixel Fold might get a new Dual Screen feature for enhanced photography

Just recently, Google rolled out the Pixel Camera 9.2 app with its new design and features for all Pixel users, but the excitement doesn't stop there. The latest findings from the update suggest that Google has more work to do, particularly suited to the Pixel Fold.

Android Authority reports that the Pixel Camera 9.2 update highlights elements hinting at an upcoming dual-screen feature, known internally as “Saturn.” It looks like the Dual Screen feature is about to allow the Pixel folding leverage its outer/rear screen for a preview while capturing the photo using the inner screen.

Similar features were seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the OnePlus Open, so it's no surprise that Google is joining the foldable bandwagon.

However, depending on the source, some limitations are described in the channels. The Dual Screen feature will not work in Battery Saver mode on your Pixel folding, and it is prohibited when the device heats up too much. These limitations match Google's approach of disabling certain camera features on Pixels when they heat up.

Currently, the Dual Screen feature is not operational on the Pixel folding, even with sideloading the APK. However, there is a glimmer of hope for the future as the strings indicate ongoing work on this feature.
