Titans’ Ryan Tannehill suffers ankle injury, carted off،

Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill injured his right ankle and was transported to the locker room late in Tennessee’s 24-16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

He was on crutches after the game and said he would have an MRI when the Titans returned home.

The injury first occurred when Tannehill was sacked by Ravens defensive lineman Justin Madubuike early in the third quarter. Tannehill continued to play despite his injury until he left the field after throwing an interception with 4:43 remaining in the third quarter. He finished the game 8 of 16 passing for 74 yards and the interception.

“I think it was tough for him to be able to execute what I saw,” Titans coach Mike Vrabel said. “We talked about doing different things or what his mobility would look like. We definitely don’t want to put him in danger and prevent him from protecting himself.”

Tannehill missed the final three games of the 2022 season with a right ankle injury.

Backup quarterback Malik Willis arrived and completed a 9-yard pass to Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, his first pass attempt of the season. The Titans were forced to punt on this drive. He finished the game 4-of-5 passing for 74 yards and was sacked four times. He also gained 17 yards rushing on three carries.
