FIA opens investigation into Toto and Susie Wolff over conflict of interest claims

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and his F1 Academy director wife Susie are under investigation by the FIA ​​over an alleged conflict of interest.

The FIA ​​has followed up on concerns raised by rival team bosses over whether the pair had shared confidential information with Formula One Management (FOM).

Susie Wolff is employed by F1 as Managing Director of its all-female F1 Academy series and reports directly to F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali.

According to a report in Business F1 magazine, rival team bosses raised concerns over whether information discussed in their private meetings had been passed to FOM executives via the pair.

The report said concerns intensified when Toto Wolff made a comment at a recent team principals meeting that included details that several present believed could only have come from the FOM.

The FIA ​​released the following statement on Tuesday.

“The FIA ​​is aware of media speculation centered on the allegation that information of a confidential nature was passed to an F1 team principal by a member of FOM staff. The FIA ​​Compliance Department is investigating the case.”

The teams have not commented publicly.
