Cyberpunk 2077 has been going through a rough patch, but luckily there have been a number of fixes that have allowed us to finally get the game that CD Projekt Red promised. However, one thing was sorely missing from the dystopian RPG, which the studio is currently rectifying.

As part of update 2.1

In a recent video uploaded to the Cyberpunk 2077 YouTube channel, CDPR said that not only would the Ultimate Edition be arriving this week, but the game would be updated to version 2.1.

Besides the addition of new vehicles and the updated Adam Smasher boss fight, Cyberpunk will also now benefit from a subway system. The developer acknowledged that this was something fans had wanted for a while.

Although there were no plans to officially implement it, it was announced that a subway system “might be feasible,” so the team decided to move forward. There was already an unofficial mod, so now there will be an official one in my CD Projekt Red itself.

The video goes on to show that metro stations can be used as a quick travel point or a true “commute experience”. There will be 19 stations in total once the update begins rolling out, which will happen on December 5.

The Phantom Liberty DLC, released in September, represented the next step for Cyberpunk. Not only did it bring many changes and improvements to the base game, but it also brought new content and a new story.

As the game's third anniversary approaches, it's hard to imagine that Cyberpunk 2077 went from one of the most controversial releases of this generation to a famous CDPR release. However, despite the improvements, some may still feel the effects of this initial release.
