Xiaomi 14 Ultra battery specs and charging capabilities unveiled in a recent leak

Not long ago, Xiaomi launched its Xiaomi 14 series, reaching over 1 million units sold in China within a week. Armed with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and plenty of AI gadgets, the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro are eyeing the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. Now there's a buzz around the Xiaomi 14 Ultra joins the party. One of China's most renowned tipsters, Digital Chat Station (via Android titles), spilled the beans on some of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra specifications. The smartphone will pack a 5,180mAh battery and support 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, meaning it will have the same wired charging speed as the Xiaomi 14, not the 14 Pro. Wireless charging speed remains the same for all three.

The move to a 5,180mAh battery is a step up from its predecessor, the 5,000mAh Xiaomi 13 Ultra battery. The battery in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is also larger than those found in the Xiaomi 14which contains a 4,610 mAh and a 14 Pro with its 4,880 mAh battery.

Warning to Xiaomi 14 Ultra debuts next year, probably early in the second quarter if Xiaomi sticks to its routine. The Xiaomi Ultra 13 debuted in April 2023.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will be powered by the latest version Snapdragon 8 generation 3, just like his brothers and sisters. However, the camera setup is expected to be a little higher, but again with Leica optics.

What's going on in the camera department? Rumors suggest a move to a variable aperture, a departure from the dual aperture setup of its predecessor. This promises a more versatile camera system, building on Huawei's success with a 10-stop variable aperture.

In a recent redesign, Xiaomi bid farewell to MIUI by introducing the all-new HyperOS. Beyond smartphones, it is designed to connect Xiaomi's sprawling product ecosystem. HyperOS is expected to roll out globally to Xiaomi smartphones in the first quarter of 2024, and you can bet that Xiaomi 14 Ultra will come preloaded with it.
