OnePlus 12 is out with a massive battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and improved cameras،

The OnePlus 12 series is finally official, and all Android flagship phones have reason to worry, as this model has a very solid package that poses a challenge to even your best iPhone and Galaxy flagships.

After numerous teasers and leaks, OnePlus has finally revealed the latest and greatest in the lineup: the OnePlus 12. The phone launches in China a month earlier than the previous model, with a global premiere expected in early 2024.

The OnePlus 12 comes with a surprisingly heavy battery, in fact one of the largest cells in a flagship phone, if we leave gaming devices out of the equation. The camera system is also quite impressive, we have already seen many official samples from OnePlus.

Last but not least, the phone features the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 silicon, coupled with a very interesting cooling system, and this combination has resulted in the best AnTuTu result ever. But let's not go too far, it's time to dive deep!

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and a sophisticated cooling system

The OnePlus 12 features the latest Qualcomm silicon – the Snapdragon 8 generation 3. We've already seen a few Gen 3 launches in the Far East, but this time OnePlus has paired this speedy processor with a sophisticated cooling system, consisting of a large vapor chamber and a dual heat dissipation structure. cycle. The result is a very powerful chipset. it also works very well in large, high-load scenarios. There is also a 24GB RAM option, thanks to the new 24GB LPDDR5X chip that Hynix recently launched. Memory configurations start at 16/256 GB and go up to the aforementioned 24 GB of RAM, coupled with 1 TB of storage.

Improved camera system

OnePlus revealed the OnePlus 12's camera system a few days ago, sharing some samples of the main, ultra-wide, and telephoto cameras. The star of the show is the new Sony Lytia LYT-808 image sensor under the main lens. It's a 50 MP sensor using Sony's dual-layer transistor pixel technology that debuted with the Exmor T on the Sony Xperia 1 Mark V.

This sensor sits under a 23mm wide lens with an f/1.6 aperture and judging by the samples, it can produce decent photos. There's also some AI magic going on in the background, as OnePlus uses the new Super Light and Shadow engine, paired with Hasselblad lenses and the aforementioned Sony sensor.

The telephoto lens is also very interesting, it uses the large-sole OmniVision OV64B 64MP sensor, sitting under a periscope lens system capable of 3x optical zoom. When we combine this with the 2x lossless crop of the large sensor, we get the equivalent of this camera's 6x optical zoom.

Ultrawide is a fairly standard offering. It uses a Sony IMX581 sensor under an af/2.2 aperture lens with a 14mm equivalent focal length.

The brightest screen in the industry?

The OnePlus 12 features a collaboratively developed OLED display, this is a BOE x OnePlus project. The panel itself is a 2K and there is a certain mystery around this screen. It's believed to be a 6.82-inch 1-120Hz OLED with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, but during the official unveiling, there was nothing to support all of these claims. We will have to wait for the global unveiling which should take place early next year to find out more about the OnePlus 12 screen.

Big battery and big charge

The battery inside the phone is a 5,400mAh cell, one of the largest in a flagship phone of this type. There's also 100W wired and 50W wireless fast charging support, making this phone one of the fastest charging Androids that will officially be available in the US (we'll have to wait a bit for confirm it).

Pricing and availability

The OnePlus 12 is expected to be revealed globally around January 24-25 (more information on this is expected around December 15). We'll update this article with some pricing figures as soon as we have them.
