Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Is Coming to Netflix Games

While the world waits for the GTA 6 trailer to release, there’s something on the horizon for those who want classic Grand Theft Auto on the mobile. If you have a Netflix account, you will soon be able to download and play the definitive edition of Rockstar’s iconic series.

But will it be better?

In a recent article on Twitter and on official siteNetflix has announced that Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy will be available via its mobile app starting December 14. It is also available through Google Play and the Apple App Store.

This will give you the chance to play GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas via the streaming platform. This trilogy is part of Netflix’s ongoing attempt to tap into the gaming market, offering around 80 titles on mobile.

However, this will be Grove Street Games’ remaster and not the classic Grand Theft Auto installments originally released two decades ago. As many painfully knew, the 2021 definitive edition was met with near-universal criticism.

GTA: Trilogy reviews have talked about the many problems the remastered collection has, including poor quality visuals and a long list of issues. Rockstar Games made the situation worse by removing classics from digital storefronts, forcing players to opt for the Definitive Edition.

Since then, the world has largely forgotten about it, although attempts have been made to update all three games, fixing issues and improving overall quality.

What Netflix does Grand Theft Auto available on mobile via its application will boost the popularity of remasters remains to be seen at this stage.
