Measuring 216 centimeters, Julius Long is the tallest heavyweight boxer in the world.
But in the ring on Sunday, even the American’s significant height advantage was no match for Toese Vousiutu’s sheer power, suffering a fourth-round TKO defeat.
Things took a bizarre turn early in the fight when Long entered the ring in sneakers, attracting the attention of American boxing great Shawn Porter on commentary.
“Some things are just unacceptable,” Porter said.
“These shoes are unacceptable. No matter how big his feet were, he could have found something.

Long then had to fight the Vaseline in his eyes before the fight even started, desperately trying to wipe it away with his gloves.
Once the action started, there was little improvement from Long, who was certainly having fun inside the ring as he danced and occasionally playfully teased Vousiutu.
But it wasn’t as nice when Vousiutu landed, pushing the American into the ropes before dropping him in the final minutes of the third round.
“He looked absolutely gone,” Ben Damon said on commentary, while Jeff Fenech said Long could “barely walk” to his corner after the third round.
It didn’t take long, however, for Long to find himself on the canvas and this time for good, with a brutal left hook ending the fight.
It was one-way traffic for the most part before that anyway, with Long landing only eight of 40 punches by the end of the second round.

Vousiutu, however, had nothing but respect for Long, who accepted the fight on short notice and described it as a “tough” challenge.
“Thanks to Julius,” he said after the fight.
“I have a lot of respect [for him]. He accepted the fight on a week’s notice. A lot of the heavyweights here in Australia are all fit and ready to go, but they don’t want to fight.
“I don’t understand.”
As for who the next opponent could be for Vousiutu, who improved his record to 6-1 with Sunday’s victory, the Australian now has his eyes set on a rematch against Kiki Toa Leutele.
