Honor Magic 6 tipped to feature impressive camera, 66W charging support

Honor’s new flagship, the Magic 6, isn’t expected to hit the market until next year, but information about the phone has already been leaked. We’ve already talked about the Magic 6’s chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful processor, but new details about the flagship have emerged in China. Digital Chat Station claims that the Magic 6 Pro will feature an impressive 160-megapixel periscope zoom camera instead of a 200-megapixel camera as previously rumored.

The report also mentions that all Magic 6 models will be equipped with Omnivision’s OV50K sensor, which benefits from the unique LOFIC (lateral overflow integration capacitor-based CMOS) technology that offers enhanced imaging capabilities. The said sensor measures 1/1.3 inch, promising a steady increase in quality when capturing photos.

Aside from the camera changes, the entire Magic 6 series has received major improvements over the previous flagship line.

One of the things that might stay the same is the loading speed. Although rumors claim that the Honor Magic 6 could get an improvement and offer customers up to 80W charging support, as opposed to the Honor Magic 5’s 66W charging speeds, it appears that Honor decided not to do so.

The unannounced Honor Magic 6 was recently spotted with Chinese authority 3C (via My Repair Guide), and the listing confirms that the phone offers maximum charging speeds of 66W, the same as the Honor Magic 5 series. Perhaps the Pro model will offer a boost in charging speed, but that’s not just a guess at the moment.
