Galaxy A35 and A55 expected release date, prices, specs, and upgrades،

In addition to offering some of the best flagship phone lines on the market, Samsung also tends to particularly stand out when it comes to its mid-range devices, such as the popular A series. The next iteration that we are currently patiently waiting for are the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35.

Here you will find all the rumors and leaks regarding Samsung’s upcoming A-series mid-rangers. A bit strange, however, is the fact that there doesn’t seem to be much about the A55 and A35 at the moment, with only a few – albeit important – pieces of information having surfaced online.

The good news, however, is that there should still be around three to four months until the expected announcement of the two phones, so there’s plenty of time for some tasty leaks to appear. Last year we saw some minor changes, like a faster chipset, a slightly improved camera system, a glass back panel, and improved haptics.

What will the Galaxy A55 and A35 bring? Well, let’s see what we know so far!

Galaxy S24 release date

There has been no word on an exact date, but we could easily guess by taking a look at the release schedule history of the A55 and A35 ancestors. Here they are:

  • Galaxy A52 and A32 5G: March 17, 2021
  • Galaxy A53 and A33 5G: March 17, 2022
  • Galaxy A54 and A34 5G: March 15, 2023

As you can see, Samsung has been producing its mid-rangers every year in mid-March for three years in a row. In other words, the probability that we could see the Galaxy A55 and A35 during the same period this year is more than high.

Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 prices

Prices for Samsung’s A-series increased slightly last year, but that’s exactly why we don’t expect the company to do the same this time around. The Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 are expected to cost the same as their 2023 predecessors, at $449 for the base Galaxy A55 and $246 for the base Galaxy A34.

Galaxies A55 and A35 camera

Galaxy A55: 50MP + 12MP + 5MP

Galaxy A35: 50MP + 8MP + 5MP

So far, there haven’t been many rumors regarding the Galaxy A55’s camera system. Some reports say the main camera will keep the same 50MP, but it’s unclear if it will feature a new image sensor or any other hardware improvements along with the rest of the cameras.

On the other hand, the Galaxy A35 is said to have a new 50 MP main camera which is expected to replace the 48 MP one of the A34, but, again, the leaks stop there. No details have been revealed yet.

Galaxy A55 and A35 storage

The storage options will most likely remain the same, but we could see Samsung dropping the 4GB RAM option for the A55 model, unlike the A54 which had such an option. In other words, we expect to see 6GB and 8GB RAM variants for the new mid-range models.

Galaxy A55 and A35 design

Fortunately, design is one of the areas in which we TO DO have information on at least one of the phones, and it is the Galaxy A35. Some recently leaked A35 renders and a 360-degree video showed that the more affordable Samsung Mid-Ranger will finally replace the teardrop selfie camera cutout with just a punch-hole style.

The images also show an interesting design choice Samsung could have made: the area where the volume and power buttons are slightly raised relative to the rest of the phone’s frame.

Unfortunately, we don’t have anything to tease about the Galaxy A55, but given that these two phones tend to share the same look, expect it to adopt the same visual changes.

Galaxy A55 and A35 screen

  • Galaxy A55: 6.4-inch Super AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+
  • Galaxy A35: 6.6-inch Super AMOLED, 120Hz

Besides the fact that the Galaxy A35 has lost the small notch of its predecessor, we don’t expect to see anything new for the screens of Samsung’s 2024 mid-range phones. The only area where both could improve, if we had to speculate, would be the peak rated brightness levels. For reference, the A54 and A34 have a peak brightness of 1,000 nits.

Galaxy A55 and A35 battery and charging specifications

Some rumors hinted at faster charging speeds with the more expensive Galaxy A55, but alas, those rumors have recently been disputed, meaning the A55 will retain the same 25W fast charging as its predecessor. The same goes for the Galaxy A35.

Here are the expected battery sizes on both phones:

  • Galaxy A55: 5000mAh
  • Galaxy A35 Plus: 5,000 mAh

Yes, they are the same as before.

Galaxy Performance of the A55 and A35

One area where both phones will undoubtedly be improved is their performance, with an all-new chipset. Apparently, Qualcomm will not be the only supplier here. Instead, Samsung is likely to adorn the A55 and A35 with the Exynos 1480 processor, believed to be codenamed S5E8845, or its cheekier version: “Pink.”

This should bring some improvements in speed and graphics performance, hopefully leading to fewer UI stutters like the ones we noticed on the Galaxy A54 during our review.
