Upcoming Smartphones Launching in December 2023،
November 2023 was a relatively slow month in terms of smartphone launches. The only highlights were the launch of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered device and flagships like the Pixel 8 Series and affordable Lava Blaze Pro become official. However, December 2023 is packed with a long list of new smartphone releases. This month will see the launch of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 powered device in India, along with devices like Honor 100, Realme GT 5 Pro, Poco F6, and more. A look back at the major launches planned for December 2023.
Smartphones launch in December 2023
1. iQOO 12 5G
Launch date – December 12, 2023
The iQOO 12 series has already been launched in China and it is the first to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The series includes iQOO 12 5G and iQOO 12 Pro 5G, the two flagship devices. The base model iQOO 12 5G is expected to launch in India on December 12.
iQOO 12 5G will sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with HDR10+ and a 144Hz refresh rate. The display will offer a brightness of 3,000 nits. The premium smartphone will have up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
Both the base and Pro models have the same rear camera specifications. iQOO 12 has a triple camera setup on the back. It includes a 50 MP primary lens, a 50 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 64 MP telephoto lens. For selfies, there is a 16 MP front camera. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery under the hood with 120W fast charging and runs Origin OS 4 based on Android 14 operating system.
2.OnePlus12
Launch date – December 4, 2023
OnePlus is ready to launch its next flagship OnePlus 12 5G this month. OnePlus President Li Jeo Louis announced the same via the Weibo platform. In India, the OnePlus 12 will launch in January or February 2024.
Some specifications have been confirmed by OnePlus. These include a 64MP periscope camera with OmniVision OV64B sensor and a 50MP main camera with Sony LYT 808 sensor. Just like iQOO 12, the OnePlus 12 will also be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
OnePlus 12 has also been in the news for its new display. It will sport a 6.7-inch 2L LTPO AMOLED panel with ProXDR and 2600 nits brightness. The screen will have DisplayMate A+ certification and was recently presented by OnePlus at the BOE event. OnePlus 12 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 150W wired fast charging.

3. Realme GT 5 Pro
Launch date – December 7, 2023
Realme GT 5 Pro is expected to launch in China on December 7, 2023. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset with up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The smartphone will reportedly sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. In terms of camera, Realme GT 5 Pro will feature a new Sony LYT 808 sensor along with an OmniVision ultra-wide lens OV0810 with 8 MP and a telephoto lens. It will run Realme UI 5 based on Android 14 and pack a 5,400mAh battery with 100W charging.
4. Poco X6 Neo
Launch date – December 2023 (tentative)
Poco X6 Neo has been seen online several times. In India, it is expected to be a rebrand of the Xiaomi 13R Pro. Reliable tipster Kacper Skrzypek also claimed that the Poco X6 Neo could soon launch in India as the Redmi Note 13R Pro. This will be the beginning of Poco’s Neo nickname. The Poco X6 Neo will feature a 50 MP or 108 MP primary camera and a 2 MP depth sensor.
Apart from this, the Poco GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It will run MIUI based on Android 13 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging.
5. Poco X6 Pro
Launch date – December 2023 (tentative)
Besides the Poco X6 Neo series, the Poco X6 Pro is also expected to launch soon. The smartphone has been spotted on the IMEI database. It is expected to launch in India soon and is said to be powered by a Snapdragon 7s GEN 2 chipset with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. In terms of battery, there will be a 5,100mAh powerhouse with 67W wired fast charging. The camera would be the main highlight as it will sport a 200MP primary lens.
6. Honor 100
Launch date – end of December (tentative)
The Honor 100 series was launched in China last week and is gearing up for a global launch soon. The successor to the Honor 90, the Honor 100, could launch in India and globally in the coming weeks. Honor 100 And Honor 100 Pro comes with a Full HD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There will also be a 5,000mAh battery. While the Honor 100 will be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, the Pro model will feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.
In terms of camera, both smartphones will have a 50 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor, but the Honor 100 Pro will have a 32 MP telephoto lens which is not available in the base model. In the Pro model, there will be two selfie cameras, a 50 MP Sony IMX816 sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor. The smartphones run on MagicOS 7.2 operating system based on Android 13. Both devices will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The Pro model also supports wireless charging.
7. Oppo Reno 11 Series
Launch date – December 2023
The Oppo Reno 11 series includes 2 smartphones: the OppoReno 11 5G and the Oppo Reno 11 Pro 5G. It was recently launched in China and may launch globally in December 2023. Recently, Reno 11 Pro was seen on the TDRA certification website under the model number CPH2607. Reno 11 Pro will have a 6.74-inch FHD+ curved OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,600 nits brightness. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Reno 11 Pro will run Android 14 Pro and feature a triple camera setup on the back like most smartphones. The rear camera setup will include a 50 MP primary lens, an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, and a 32 MP portrait lens. For selfies and video calls, there will be a 32MP sensor on the front. Reno 11 will pack a 4,700mAh battery while Reno 11 Pro will pack a 4,800mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging.
8. Redmi K70/Poco F6
Launch date – December 2023
The Redmi K70 series will be launched in China on the 29thth November. The series will include 3 smartphones- Redmi K70, Redmi K70EAnd Redmi K70 Pro. The base model, Redmi K70, could launch in India in December under the name Poco F6. The device was recently seen on Geekbench, which revealed that it will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8300 chipset. This is a new processor that is 20% better than its predecessor. There will also be 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
The smartphone will run Android 14 and pack a 5,000mAh battery with 90W fast charging. The camera specifications are still unknown.
