After Poland beat the Faroe Islands, they were due to return on Friday, but bad weather scuttled their plans.

Their charter flight finally took off on Saturday and, as a group of supporters faced further delays and cancellations, the PZPN invited them to join the team on the flight back to Warsaw.

Bobowski is usually easy to spot at Poland matches, wearing his king costume with crown, but he wore everyday clothes for the journey home.

Without direct flights from the Faroe Islands to Poland, an already difficult trip for fans could have turned into a nightmare without the PZPN charter flight.

“As always, PZPN is booking a private charter flight for the team to travel to away matches,” PZPN’s press service told Reuters.

“We left the Faroe Islands at 10:30 a.m. local time and invited around ten fans to join us on the flight.”
