Euro 2024 playoffs: Wales meet Finland, Ukraine face Bosnia،

Wales are set to host Finland while Ukraine are paired with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday as the draw for the Euro 2024 qualifying playoffs was made in Switzerland.

Wales or Finland will face the winner of Poland against Estonia, with a potentially decisive match between Israel and Ukraine as the former face Iceland on their way.

Ukraine and Israel currently have to play “home” matches in a neutral country for security reasons, as their own countries are at war. Technically, Israel has been named host country against Iceland, while Bosnia is at home against Ukraine.

Israel has never qualified for the European Championship since becoming a UEFA member in 1994.

The third tier qualifiers will see the winner of Georgia or Luxembourg host Greece or Kazakhstan.

The six playoff semifinals will be played on March 21. The three finals are scheduled five days later.

The winners of the three playoff brackets will complete the 24-team roster for Euro 2024, joining 20 qualified teams in the 10 qualifying groups plus host Germany.

When the tournament draw takes place on Dec. 2 in Hamburg, the three vacancies for the playoff winners will be reserved spots from the lowest-ranked pot of the No. 4 seeds.

Teams entered the playoffs based on their results and placement in the Nations League groups played last year. Their placement in this year’s Euro 2024 qualifying groups did not affect the seeding for Thursday’s draw.
