Originally shown during India Bike Week in 2019, the finalized version features significant improvements over its initial prototype. Interested buyers can secure their Mantis by making a booking on the company’s website, with an initial booking cost of Rs 10,000 for the first 1,000 customers, and Rs 25,000 thereafter. While deliveries are expected to begin in Bengaluru by April 2024, the timeline for other cities is yet to be disclosed.

Orxa Mantis Features and Specifications

Built on an all-aluminum chassis, the Orxa Mantis retains the distinctive design cues showcased in its prototype during Indian Bike Week 2022. The front profile is distinguished by a dual LED projector unit, adding a polarizing touch to its appearance. Sporting bold-looking panels on the sides, the Mantis exudes a sporty aura.

The sleek rear section, inspired by high-displacement ICE street motorcycles, contributes to its overall sleek appearance. Beyond its design, Orxa plans to enhance the Mantis with a range of accessories, including a top case, side panniers and an overhead rack, the pricing details of which have not yet been disclosed. The Mantis will be available in two striking colors – Jungle Gray and Urban Black.

Regarding its features, the bike is equipped with a 5-inch digital TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. Additionally, it includes a Mantis app, enabling navigation, displaying phone notifications and providing driver analytics directly on the TFT screen.

In the area of cycle components, the Mantis relies on a 41mm telescopic fork for the front suspension and a rear monoshock setup, adjustable for preload. Braking responsibilities are handled by disc brakes at both ends, featuring a 320mm unit at the front and a 230mm unit at the rear. The Mantis weighs 182 kilograms and has a comfortable seat height of 815 mm.

Powertrain

The Mantis features a liquid-cooled electric motor generating a maximum power of 20.5 kW and a peak torque of 93 Nm, enabling top speeds of up to 135 km/h and reaching 0-100 km/h in just 8.9 seconds. This electric bike is powered by a fixed 8.9 kWh battery, offering an estimated range of up to 221 km. The motorcycle comes with a standard 1.3 kW wall charger, requiring 5 hours for a 0-80% charge. For a faster option, customers can opt for a 3.3 kW charger, capable of charging from 0 to 80 percent in 2.5 hours, with the price of the charger yet to be announced.
