Insta360 has launched two new action cameras with a flip touchscreen. These include the Insta360 Ace and the Insta360 Ace Pro. As the name suggests, the Pro variant has a better lens and supports fast wired charging. However, the standard version, with its capable sensor and a multitude of recording modes, offers enough value. Here’s everything you need to know about Insta360’s new action cameras.

Insta360 Ace and Ace Pro specifications

The all-new Insta360 Ace comes with a 1/2-inch sensor with an af/2.4 aperture. The Insta360 Ace Pro, on the other hand, has a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor with an f/2.6 aperture. Both models have a focal length of 16mm and a maximum resolution of 48 MP.

While the Pro model can record 16:9 videos in up to 8K resolution at 24 frames per second, the Vanilla Insta360 Ace can record 16:9 videos at up to 6K resolution at 24 frames per second. Both models feature a 2.4-inch touchscreen that can be flipped over to use as a small viewfinder or monitor.

Both action cameras can record 4:3 FreeFrame videos at 4K resolution at 60 frames per second and 16:9 PureView videos in 4K at 30 frames per second. Additionally, both models can shoot 4K (16:9) slow-motion videos at up to 120 frames per second. Under the hood, the devices run on a 5nm chipset.

Other video modes include Active HDR, Starlpase, Timelapse, TimeShift, Pre-Recording and Loop Recording. Audio modes include wind reduction, stereo, and direct focus; both models come with three microphones. Available photo modes include HDR Photo, Interval and Burst Photo.

The ISO range for both variants is 100 to 6,400, while the shutter speed varies between 1/8,000 sec and 120 sec. With the high shutter speed, users can click photos of any fast action, while the slow shutter speed could help them capture excellent long exposure photos.
